Simon Moglia practises primarily in the criminal jurisdiction in the County and Supreme Courts. Prior to legal practice he worked in the community sector for 15 years in youthwork, governance and policy-making.

He is currently accredited as follows:
- Indictable Crime Certificate (Victorian Bar); and
- Criminal Trial Preferred Counsel (Victoria Legal Aid).

His particular experience lies in cases of:
- mental impairment and fitness to plead;
- risk assessment and preventative detention, eg, supervision orders;
- terrorism offences;
- sentence appeals; and
- young offenders.
