Leigh accepts briefs to appear in criminal, quasi-criminal, regulatory and public law matters including inquests and tribunals.

Leigh specialises in occupational health and safety matters and criminal law. He has a particular interest in regulatory and public law, including matters before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and coronial inquests.

Before coming to the Bar Leigh was a Lead Lawyer at WorkSafe Victoria, where he conducted high-profile and complex occupational health and safety prosecutions across the construction, manufacturing and agricultural industries. He appeared regularly in the Magistrates' Court, conducted merits reviews of inspector decisions and provided advice on investigations, coercive powers, infringements, inspector training, psychosocial risks and COVID-19. 
 
Leigh was also a Principal Solicitor at the Victorian Government Solicitors Office, where he advised a range of government departments on occupational health and safety law matters.

Prior to WorkSafe and the VGSO, Leigh worked as a Solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions where he prepared matters for trial and appeared in the Magistrates' and County Courts. 
 
Leigh had conduct of a broad range of matters across all jurisdictions involving violence, property, sex, fraud and drug related offences. Leigh was an Associate in the County Court of Victoria to her Honour Judge Hampel AM SC.

Leigh is reading with Karen Argiropoulos and his Senior Mentor is Daniel Gurvich KC.
