PROFILE

Candice accepts briefs in all areas of criminal and quasi-criminal law and public and administrative law.
 
Prior to joining the Bar, Candice was a solicitor advocate at Galbally Parker Lawyers, providing advice and representation to clients in a broad range of State and Commonwealth criminal matters, including serious indictable offences. Candice has extensive experience in the Magistrates' Court and County Court and has instructed counsel in all Victorian courts.
 
Candice started her career as a legal research assistant at Gorman Chambers and William Crockett Chambers. Candice went on to accept a role supporting the Board of Inquiry into the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry. Candice was also a solicitor advocate with Victoria Legal Aid, appearing in criminal law and intervention order matters.
 
Candice was Associate to his Honour Judge James Montgomery, and later to his Honour Judge Bill Stuart in the criminal division of the County Court of Victoria. At the County Court, Candice also worked as Case Manager for Self-Represented Litigants in the civil jurisdiction and as a Legal Policy Officer for the court.
 
Candice is a lecturer on Evidence at Deakin University.
 
Candice is a committee member of Tarwirri, a membership body comprising Indigenous legal professionals and law students in Victoria, Australia.
 
Candice is reading with Sam Tovey and her Senior Mentor is Ruth Shann SC.
