Suganya is available to be briefed in commercial disputes, administrative law cases and planning and environment matters.

Immediately before coming to the Bar, Suganya was a Principal Solicitor at the Environment Protection Authority where she worked on administrative law, civil litigation and regulatory prosecutions and regularly appeared in VCAT.

Previously, as a Principal Solicitor in the Corporate team at the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, Suganya advised on major contracts, administrative decision-making, privacy law, occupational health and safety and discrimination.  During her time at the Department, Suganya also advised on Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997 matters and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Prior to working as a government lawyer, Suganya spent 5 years as a commercial litigator at Herbert Geer (now Thomson Geer). Her practice included contractual disputes, contaminated land, retail tenancy disputes, and insurance and insolvency matters. Suganya also regularly undertook pro bono work for the Seniors Rights Legal Clinic at that time.

Suganya is currently completing her Master of Public & International Law at the University of Melbourne. She also has Bachelor degrees in Law (with Honours) and Science (majoring in Mathematics & Statistics) from the same university.

She is reading with Georgina Costello and her senior mentor is Claire Harris QC.
