Debra Harris B.Leg.S was admitted to practice in New South Wales in 1987 and signed the bar roll in that state in 2004 and in Victoria in 2013.

Prior to being called to the bar in 2004 in NSW, Debra was an accredited Family Law Specialist (Law Society of NSW), practising in family and defacto child protection and associated areas. In 2009, Debra qualified as a mediator.

In 2010, Debra took up the role of Senior Advocate in Family Law for Victoria Legal Aid before signing the bar roll in Victoria. Debra has extensive experience in all areas of family law including complex property and financial matters, parenting matters, de facto matters, Hague Convention matters, parens patriea matters and as counsel for the ICL.

Debra has appeared in a number of reported cases in both NSW and Victorian Supreme Courts as well as the Family Court of Australia and Full Court of the Family Court. Debra has prepared and presented many papers on Family law and is eager to support the professional development of lawyers.Debra is available for pre-trial and trial work, advices and mediations in Victoria, New South Wales and other states.

Debra is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Family Law Arbitrator .
