PROFILE

Scott is a commercial barrister with a particular focus on insolvency, banking & finance, class actions, defamation & contractual disputes.

He appears regularly at various Court levels in Victoria and interstate, both led and unled. 

He is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator and a member of the LEM and the County Court Panel of Mediators. 

Prior to coming to the Bar in May 2019, Scott was a Special Counsel at HWL Ebsworth, Australia’s largest legal partnership. This followed a decade of experience as both an in-house lawyer and a commercial litigator, in which he had the conduct of matters including the landmark ASIC v Healey directors’ duties proceedings and the Centro class actions.

Scott is a member of the Victorian Bar Ethics Committee and an honourary member of the Commercial Bar Association Executive and co-editor of CommBar Matters. 

Scott read with Nicholas De Young KC and his senior mentor is Jonathon Moore KC.
