Michael has a broad commercial practice with particular expertise in Building & Construction and Property disputes. At the Bar Michael regularly appears in all Victorian Courts and Tribunals, including in the following matters:

  • security of payment matters;
  • contractual disputes;
  • defects disputes;
  • unfair preference matters; and
  • Sale of Land Act breaches.


Prior to coming to the Bar, Michael was a Solicitor at Lander & Rogers Lawyers in the Insurance team, in particular working on disputes arising out of a significant infrastructure failure. Prior to Lander & Rogers, Michael was a Solicitor with TressCox Lawyers in the Building & Construction team.

Michael is a co-author of the 5th Edition of Brookings on Building Contracts. He has published a number of articles, including in relation to substituted service, builders' duties and matters relating to the Owners Corporations Act.

Prior to coming to the Law, Michael was a secondary Drama and English teacher and Head of Arts at the MacRobertson Girls’ High School.

Michael read with Scott Stuckey and his senior mentor is Fiona McLeod SC.
