Jennifer Howe practices exclusively in family law and related jurisdictions, including family violence.

She is available to appear at final and interim hearings as well as mediations and arbitrations, to advise and to draft documents.  Jennifer also has extensive experience in appearing on behalf of Independent Children’s Lawyers.


Before coming to the Bar, Jennifer worked in the commercial litigation department at DLA Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper).  She has a thorough grasp of corporate and insolvency work and has applied this experience to complex property matters.  Jennifer was also employed as a solicitor advocate within the Family Violence Division of the Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court for several years.


Jennifer appears regularly on circuit throughout Victoria, as well as in Melbourne.  She is available also to travel to regional areas for conferences and mediations.  She has an interest in and understanding of the issues which affect family law clients in regional areas.


Jennifer is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and an Accredited Family Law Arbitrator and member of the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM).  


Jennifer  has given a number of papers on family law issues and is a regular presenter and tutor in at the Leo Cussen Institute.  Jennifer is the current secretary of the Family Law Bar Association and also the co-ordinator of the CPD program for members of the Family Law Bar


In addition to her Law degree, Jennifer has completed a Masters in International Business Law and a Bachelor of Education.
