PROFILE

Campbell Hangay is a member of the Victorian Bar and Foley’s List. He has an established practice in personal injury law and compensation. He practises in common law, workers compensation, industrial accident, Transport Accident and Wrongs Act / occupiers liability claims. 

He has a special interest in psychiatric claims and has worked on a large number of claims involving psychiatric injury in his time at the Bar. 

He currently appears in all Victorian state courts. He also an interest in Judicial review and Appellate law. Most cases settle. Some examples of matters in which Campbell Hangay has appeared which have run to verdict are set out below.

He has appeared in a large number of workers compensation cases. See for example:

Manthopoulos v Spencwill Nominees Pty Ltd [2012] VMC 15 (26 April 2012) (regarding 130 week cases and suitable employment)

Pulling v Yarra Ranges Shire Council [2018] VSC 248 (regarding mental injury) (lead by JP Gorton QC)

He has experience in Judicial Review of Medical Panel decisions. See for example:

Morrison v Melbourne Pathology [2018] VSC 477 (lead by G Uren QC)

He has extensive experience in drafting affidavits in support of, and appearing in (both as a junior and alone), serious injury applications. See for example:
