PROFILE

Julie is an experienced advocate before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal in its various jurisdictions, with particular expertise in environmental, land, water, planning and local government law and related matters.  Her areas of practice also include property law, owners corporation matters, restrictive covenants, liquor licensing, leases, and many other matters heard and determined by VCAT.   Julie can also assist with Part IV testator’s family maintenance cases.

Julie is a graduate of Melbourne University (LLB 1982) and RMIT University (Master of Business (Corporate Governance 2000).  She was accredited as a specialist in Environmental Planning and Local Government Law by the Law Institute of Victoria in 1990;   and is a Certified Mediator (Bond University 2003).   She has for many years been a member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Property and Environmental Law Section, Planning and Local Government Committee.  Julie recently completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40110) and is available to assist with training needs. 

Julie is a regular contributor to the VPELA Revue (the quarterly publication of the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association) which publication canvasses all aspects of planning, environment and local government issues.  She has previously acquired a wide range of valuable experience as a Solicitor in private practice and as corporate counsel with City West Water, Parks Victoria, Melbourne City Council and City of Port Phillip.
