Julie Rivers Davis (LL.B; Master of Business (Corporate
Governance))

An experienced advocate before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal in its various jurisdictions, I have particular expertise in environmental, planning, local government and related matters. I have also developed an interest, and have acted as junior counsel, in testator’s family maintenance matters.

I am a graduate of Melbourne University (LLB 1982) and RMIT University (Master of Business (Corporate Governance) 2000); I was accredited as a specialist in Environmental Planning and Local Government Law (Law Institute of Victoria 1990); and am a Certified Mediator (Bond University 2003).

I am the co-author of the loose leaf Local Government Service Victoria for Thomson Publishing, which publication canvasses all aspects of the Local Government Act 1989. I have previously acquired a wide range of valuable experience as a Solicitor in private practice and as corporate counsel with City West Water, Parks Victoria, Melbourne City Council and City of Port Phillip.

I am experienced in:

  • Land Development

  • Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal advocacy
