Lesley Taylor (B.A. LL.B. (Hons) LL.M.) was admitted to practice in 1992 in the Australian Capital Territory following completion of her B.A. and LL.B. (Hons) at the Australian National University. She worked in the commercial litigation division of Snedden Hall and Gallop and then for the Legal Aid Office (ACT) before moving to Melbourne in 1995, and being admitted to practice in Victoria, to take up a position of Senior Legal Officer at the office of the Commonwealth DPP. Lesley completed her LL.M degree at the University of Melbourne in 1999, writing her thesis on search and seizure powers. In 2000 Lesley was awarded a Vincent Fairfax Fellowship. Lesley is a member of the ACT Bar Society as well as the Victorian Bar.

Lesley signed the Bar Roll in 1998 and since that time has practiced in criminal and administrative law. She is regularly briefed by the Commonwealth DPP to undertake both trial and appellate work. She has appeared on behalf of the DPP in the County Court, the Court of Appeal and the High Court. Her criminal practice is not limited to prosecution matters and Lesley accepts defence trial and appellate briefs. Lesley is frequently briefed to defend criminal matters in the ACT. Her experience in criminal matters is broad ranging from offences of violence and drug matters to white collar crime. Lesley has also appeared in administrative law matters including disciplinary tribunal matters.

Lesley's other areas of interest include revenue law, particularly where it relates to fraud-like issues, and commercial litigation.
