Pauline Shiff (LL.B. (Hons I)) was admitted in Victoria in 1987 and signed the Bar Roll in 1991.

She has a First Class honours degree in Law, and was awarded the University Prizes in Family Law and in Civil Procedure. Pauline's Honours' thesis was on intercountry and intercultural adoption and constitutional aspects of the Victorian adoption legislation.

As a solicitor, Pauline practised in commercial law and commercial litigation.

Since coming to the Bar in March, 1991 Pauline has practised primarily in family law, de facto relationships law, and in Crimes (Family Violence) Act matters. She has been involved in a number of international child abduction cases, including cases involving the Hague Convention on Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. She appeared as trial counsel and as junior counsel before the Full Court and the High Court in Z.P. v. P.S. (1994) FLC 92-480 and in McCall and McCall; State Central Authority; Attorney-General (Cth) (1995) FLC 92-551.

Pauline is an accredited Mediator.
