Kim Knights (B.Ec., LL.B., LL.M.) was admitted to practice in 1991 and signed the Bar Roll in 1998. Kim has a commercial practice specialising in insolvency. Kim regularly appears for creditors (particularly Banks), liquidators, receivers, administrators and trustees of bankrupt estates. Kim is experienced in liquidator's and trustee's examinations, insolvent trading actions, preference actions and uncommercial transaction actions as well as winding up and bankruptcy matters. Kim has been at the Bar for eight years. Prior to becoming a barrister, Kim was a solicitor in the Commercial Litigation section of Clayton Utz for five years and a Senior Associate with Freehills for three years. Kim has completed the IPAA's (Insolvency Practitioner's Association of Australia) Advanced Insolvency Course and a Master of Laws at Melbourne University. In addition to being a full time barrister Kim lectures in insolvency at the University of Melbourne and is Secretary of the Insolvency section of the Commercial Bar.
