Ian is experienced in all areas of Criminal Law and Coronial Inquests. His experience includes numerous murder trials, major drug trials, rape trials and "white collar crime" trials. He has appeared for the defence in some of Victoria's notable trials including the Longford cinema shooting, the Burwood triple murders and the Walsh Street police shootings and the Pong Su heroin importation trial.  This was the largest importationinto the State of Victoria.  Ian successfully represented the captain of the North Korean ship.  

Ian's practice also includes the Coroner's Court, Magistrates' Court (including .05) and the Liquor Licensing Commission. He also appears before the Medical Board, the Pharmacy Board and other disciplinary tribunals. This also includes doctors and pharmacists referred to the Health Insurance Commission.
