Ffyona accepts briefs in all areas of criminal and quasi-criminal law including inquests and inquiries, regulatory matters, and child protection proceedings. She also welcomes briefs in related public and administrative law matters. 

Before coming to the Bar Ffyona worked as a solicitor advocate in private practice, at the Department of Health and Human Services, and Victoria Legal Aid. She has also worked at the Coroners Court of Victoria, the Law Institute of Victoria, and Legal Aid Queensland. 

Ffyona has appeared in a range of summary and indictable matters, as well as in child protection and intervention order matters in the lower courts. She has instructed in appellate matters in the County and Supreme Courts. As a solicitor advocate, she appeared in a number of contested hearings, including as an Independent Children’s Lawyer in child protection proceedings.  

Ffyona is completing a Master of Laws (Criminal Practice) under the supervision of the Honourable Terry Buddin SC (NSW Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeal), and Hugh Selby (Barrister, co-author of “Expert Evidence: Law, Practice, Procedure and Advocacy”). 

Ffyona has tutored in advocacy for the Australian National University in the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice program.
