Simon accepts briefs in the areas of family, criminal, and public law. 

Prior to coming to the Bar, Simon was a solicitor at Coote Family Lawyers, a prominent family law firm in Melbourne.  He gained experience in the Family Court, Federal Circuit Court and Magistrates’ Court in all types of family law and family violence disputes including those involving property, parenting and child support issues.  Simon had carriage of a number of complex litigious matters at both original and appellate levels. He also worked on public law matters including freedom of information and judicial review.

Simon has also been a volunteer solicitor at Springvale Monash Legal Service for five years where he has a supervisory role and has gained experience in a wide range of areas including crime, motor vehicle accidents, debt recovery, and consumer protection matters. 

He strives to adopt a client-focused approach to litigation with a high level of technical knowledge and commerciality.

Simon is a co-author of the Australian chapter in an international child relocation resource entitled ‘International Relocation of Children: A Global Guide’ by Sweet & Maxwell U.K.

Simon has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University. He is also currently completing a Master of Laws.

Simon is reading with Patrick O’Shannessy.  His senior mentor is Geoffrey Dickson QC.
