Profile

Estelle accepts briefs in public and administrative law and has particular expertise in health and human services, corrections, disciplinary proceedings and regulatory prosecutions.

Since coming to the Bar, Estelle has appeared in contested hearings in the Children's Court, Magistrates’ Court, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, County Court and Supreme Court and has acted for a number of Government Departments, including the Department of Health and Human Services, Corrections Victoria and the Department of Education and Training.  Estelle has also appeared before the Victorian Legal Admissions Committee in relation to disciplinary proceedings.  

Estelle has a varied practice and regularly appears in child protection matters, crimes mental impairment matters and criminal law proceedings (both for prosecution and defence).  She also acts for clients with subpoena objections and appears in disciplinary proceedings and intervention order matters.

Before coming to the Bar, Estelle was a Principal Solicitor for a number of Government Departments, including the Department of Health and Human Services, Corrections Victoria and the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office as well as working as a solicitor at a major law firm. 

Estelle has over 10 years’ experience in public and administrative law and has acted in applications for post sentence orders, coronial inquests, regulatory prosecutions and disciplinary proceedings for various health boards.  Estelle has also been involved in legislative drafting and has worked on both primary and subordinate legislation.  Previously, Estelle was the Associate to the Patient Review Panel and she has expertise in IVF law and board governance requirements.

Estelle is reading with Emily Latif and her Senior Mentor is Paul Holdenson QC.
