Prior to signing the bar roll Kristie Churchill was a solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions. Commencing in general crime Kristie then transferred to the Specialist Sexual Offences Unit for the majority of her time at the OPP.

Prior to completing her law degree, Kristie worked in various capacities in the Criminal Justice System. The last of these roles involved managing the Forensic Services Program (the provision of drug and alcohol services for court ordered treatement for offenders) at Peninsula Drug and Alcohol Program in Frankston.

Kristie also has training qualifications and has taught at Tertiary level in the area of Criminology/Criminal Justice.

Currently Kristie practices almost exclusively in Criminal law, predominantly in the trial division of the County Court.  Kristie has also appeared as junior counsel in Supreme Court murder trials and is also available to appear and provide advice in quasi criminal proceedings. She is a Victoria Legal Aid Criminal Trial preferred barrister. Kristie is also an accredited specialist criminal law advocate under the Victorian Bar's Indictable Crime Certificate program.

Whilst she appears regularly in all areas of the jurisdiction she maintains a particular interest and expertise in sexual offences matters including proceedings under the Serious Sex Offenders (Detention and Supervision) Act 2009.
