Profile

Stewart McNab was admitted to practice in 1970 and practised as a Solicitor until June 2002 when he resigned as a partner of McNab McNab & Starke to join the Victorian Bar.

 

During his time as a solicitor, Stewart practised extensively in the Wills and Probate jurisdictions, as well as conducting a general practice at the city and suburban offices of his firm. He was an Accredited Specialist with the Law Institute of Victoria in Wills and Estates and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Stewart's mediation practice concentrates on the resolution of inheritance and family disputes.

 

Stewart is a member of the International Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Since 1974 he has instructed in Wills and Probate and related litigation at Leo Cussen Institute.

 

Over the last 25 years Stewart has spoken at and given papers at conferences conducted by the Law Institute of Victoria, LAAMS, BLEC and other educational institutions and made educational videos and tapes in the Probate and Wills area.

 

Stewart is the editor of the Wills and Estates chapters of the Fitzroy Legal Handbook and the Wills and Will Litigation chapters of the Lawyers Practice Manual compiled by the Springvale Legal Service. Many of his papers have been published. He is the co-author with John Kaufman QC of the Essential Guide to Will Making published through the Leo Cussen Institute in 2001.
