Colin Mandy practiced as a Solicitor at Melasecca Zayler in Prahran for 8 years after being articled to Rob Melasecca. He was an Accredited Criminal Law Specialist before coming to the Bar, and instructed in a number of high profile matters including the Alan Bond High Court Appeal, and in many County and Supreme Court Trials.  In his first week at the Bar he appeared as junior to Julian Burnside QC in the High Court of the Solomon Islands, and since then has appeared as a junior or solo in all Victorian jurisdictions, and several interstate, including murder trials in Perth and drug trials in Sydney.

Colin practices in a wide range of areas, principally defending and prosecuting criminal trials in the County and Supreme Courts, including appearing as lead Counsel for the defence in a number of murder trials.  He has appeared in Coronial Inquests and for the Plaintiff in personal injury trials, and generally enjoys leading evidence from and cross-examining medical and scientific experts. Colin has provided advice and appeared in Occupational Health and Safety and administrative law matters. 

Colin has appeared in many interlocutory appeals, a well as appeals in relation to Conviction and Sentence in the Victorian Court of Appeal; and in Merits Reviews in the Supreme Court. 

Colin is a holder of the Victorian Bar's Indictable Crime Certificate.
