Jonathan Evans QC was admitted to practice in 1997 and signed the Bar Roll in May 1999. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2016.
Before becoming a barrister, Jonathan was a commercial litigation solicitor with Deacons Graham & James (now Norton Rose Fullbright).
At the Bar, Jonathan has had a wide practice covering most areas of commercial law, and appearances in all jurisdictions, both on his own and as junior counsel, including in complex commercial cases and appeals. Between 2011 and 2013 he acted as junior counsel for one of the defendants in the Great Southern group proceedings, the trial of which ran for 90 days in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Jonathan's main areas of practice are insolvency, corporations law, banking and finance, trusts and property law.
