Jennifer Findlay practises in all areas of commercial litigation.

She also lectures and tutors in Corporations Law and Trusts at Monash University in the Undergraduate and Juris Doctor law courses.

Before joining the Bar, Jennifer worked as a solicitor at Freehills and HWL Ebsworth Lawyers in the commercial litigation practise groups of those firms.Jennifer has acted in a wide range of insolvency-related matters; for insolvency practitioners in formal external administrations (receiverships, administrations, liquidations and bankruptcies), for debtors on winding up and bankruptcy applications and for financial institutions (including for all four major banks and some smaller financial institutions), in relation to both enforcement of banking arrangements and resolution of commercial disputes.

Jennifer also has a broad range of experience in commercial litigation, including acting in securities class actions proceedings, contractual, property, insurance and trust law disputes.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Laws (with first class honours) and Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Advanced Japanese Language) from Monash University. In her law degree, Jennifer received the following subject prizes for achieving the highest mark in those respective subjects:

    • Brian Benjamin Prize for Trusts;
    • Alec Masel Prize for Civil Procedure;
    • Australian Finance Conference Prize for the Law of Financial Transactions; and
    • Australian Advocacy Institute Prize for the Vis Arbitration Moot.

    Jennifer also received an Honourable Mention in the Vienna competition of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
